Recent Articles & Reviews by Ashley Gariepy

I'm an elementary school teacher who loves board games. I consider myself a euro-gamer at heart and Meeple Mountain's resident escape room gamer, but I have also been known to enjoy the occasional Ameri-style game.

Hey! I'm Smash and sometimes you'll see me in Ashley's reviews (and occasionally I might pop up in unexpected places).

I'm also one third of the Maple Mountain triad, the self-named group of Canadian authors here at Meeple Mountain, along with Kurt Refling and Kathleen Hartin.

Hey Ashley, why are your reviews mostly positive?

What an excellent question, Smash! You see I try to review games that I think I'll like because no one wants to play a game they don't enjoy—and it's particularly unpleasant to then have to write a review.

Ashley, what are your top 6 favourite games of all-time?

Ahh! I knew you would ask me this question. I have a really hard time ranking my favourite games because my tastes are so varied and I feel like if I chose six, I'd be excluding so many other good ones. We'll say that my top 6 "I'll play this anytime, no questions asked" games are, in no particular order:

    1. Ticket to Ride (all stand-alone games and map expansions)
    2. Kanban
    3. Pandemic (and expansions) & Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 and 2
    4. The Exit series of games
    5. Ganz Schön Clever (That's Pretty Clever)
    6. KLASK
