Our team of reviewers will provide their honest opinion in all reviews. Games that we receive as review copies directly from publishers include a disclaimer so that the reader is aware that the game was obtained in this way. In all cases Meeple Mountain reviews reflect the opinion of the author and have in no way been paid for or influenced by the publisher of the game.
With a large team of writers, we are able to match games with reviewers who are interested in that style of game. If we are asked to review a game that no one on the team is interested in, we won’t review the game. For this reason, we are able to provide largely positive subjective reviews. Our matching process also ensures that games end up in the hands of reviewers who have experience with similar games. This means that we can thoroughly examine both the strengths and the weaknesses of a game.
All publications are reviewed by the Meeple Mountain editorial team to ensure that they meet our standards for integrity and inclusivity.
We won’t knowingly use exclusionary language in our content. This includes language that is sexist, racist, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, or exclusionary to any marginalized groups. Our editors work hard to ensure that this standard is met; however, we are always learning so it is likely that occurrences have been missed. We will be reviewing our older content over time to ensure that our site reflects our values. If you notice any language that you feel is exclusionary, please let us know in the comments below.
As we grow as a media outlet, we will continue to maintain high quality content and will look for areas of improvement. Current areas that we are looking to grow in include increasing the diversity of our team and creating a safe space for all board gamers. We welcome suggestions from our readers about how we can continue to approve.
If you believe you’ve discovered an inaccuracy or conflict of interest in one of our written articles, please contact us so that we can address it.
